Bio
The SidePiece Collective was started about five years ago by our drummer, Forest Cazayoux, as a way to bring together an eclectic, rotating lineup of musicians/sidemen from various other groups (hence the name SidePiece Collective). Our group has since solidified into five members--guitar, bass, drums, sax, and trombone--with occasional appearances from other musicians/singers. We play originals that combine elements of rock, funk, fusion, world, avant-garde, experimental, jazz and more into a unique, dynamic sound that can be soft and sweet, explosive and enveloping, or anywhere in-between. The core principle of the group is to create new and interesting music with love and intent, and to bring people together wherever we are playing. Since the formation of SidePiece, we have been active around Central Texas with shows and residencies at venues including The Townsend, The Volstead, Hotel Vegas, The Drafting Room, The Fairmont, The Sahara Lounge, Pease Park, Long Play Lounge East, One 2 One Bar, Hole In The Wall, Texas Mist, Far Out Lounge, Stay Gold, Hen House, Circle Brewing Company, Love Goat, Skull Mechanix, Hyatt Lost Pines, and more. Our group has been showcased by Purple Bee Studios, SoFar Sounds, and Austin Uncharted. A recent notable performance of ours was playing for the annual Pease Park Conservancy fundraiser, "Luminarium", at Pease Park in downtown Austin. We put everything we have into our live performances, and that has earned us a reputation for creating a memorable experience every time. We look forward to making music for you!
